Slow but good

It had a slow feel to it and it flowed really well. Everything just fell into place without any disruptions to that flow. At 1:43 ,when the strings came in, that was my favorite part. It had a great feel to it that fit into the song REALLY well. Now the song would sound better to me if you put a bit of "action" into it. But considering the title and how the song was built that would probably ruin it.

4/5 (you only get 5/5 if you get 10/10 o_o )
9/10 (the synth that came in at 3:08 was kinda overpowering and covered up the background too much)

If it was rated to what type of music i like it would be lower, but i rate the song not my preferences :)

Thank you for the constructiv things, i appreciate it.

I'll be the first to say great

Synth is a bit too loud but the melody is great. You could have more of a background tho. the melody is kinda prominent and could be dubbed down a bit to bring in a second theme.

Good job tho : )

Oh and the guy that reviewed above me is a dick. he fails at living and knowing good music :)

ShadowMan1187 responds:

Thanks for reviewing, I agree when you say the synth is a bit loud,
Im planning on fixing it up a little. Also, i agree it should have something
more in the background, maybe a pad or something, and i could make a second
synth to extend the loop, and make it a full on song. Thanks for voting.
And i agree, He fails at life. =D

alright honestly... when i first started listening to this song i thought it was going to be a dull droning song... i have vigorously assaulted myself for thinking so.

The complexity of simpleness is amazing. you have built a skyscraper of a song that looks good and has a superbly sound structure. Only every once in a while do you come across something like this. It has laid back feel that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I love it.

5/5 (for a masterpiece of a trance song)
10/10 (It never gets boring!)

Laid back feel that keeps you on the edge of your seat? Deadly, I've been trying to think of a set of words to describe this song, and you finally gave me some :)

Thanks for the review, and the appreciation of the song ;)

Dude... this is sick XD

The intro was amazing and caught my attention right away and was catchy. When the bass came in and the melody pulsed along with it, it created the right effect. I got kinda repetitive but since this is a demo, I HOPE it changes a little bit. I dont have much more to say as this is not the full thing, but from what I hear its going well...

I want to hear the rest of it... hurry up lol

ok ! i have better stuff to show though lol

EXCELLENT!

I don't know why you aren't know more. You produce some insane stuff. Usually i critic stuff to the pulp but i don't have anything bad to say, lol. It was excellent. The beat was catchy and the FX were perfect. I wish i could find the bass hits that you are using because it's a hell of a lot of bass and it sounds great. All of your stuff sounds great and is very well done. Do some advertising, lol.

This is one of those songs that FULLY deserve this score!

it's not so much the bass hits, it's the effects and mastering that gives its decadence.

i hardly ever use samples anymore

I really like in one of the reviews I layed out for this he-who-shall-not-be-named who makes cheesy ass happycore, and him calling his lack of mastering an artistic expression, and upon criticising, he then says it's that way because he doesn't use vipzone. lmfao, as if I did.

I haven't used the kick samples from there in nearly 3 years (when I was seeking out new shit back in the day before I even joined the navy), all my shit is just thrown through reverb, filters, distortion, and compression >XD

oh yeah, and actually mastered WHOOPS!!!

felt heavy

it had a good slow feel to it, but something in the beginning made me cringe... i think it was the brass that started with the strings at the same time. They clashed. Didn't go together. Careful with that. The strings would be ok if they didn't have such heaviness to them... like a running elephant. Otherwise it was good... the drums sounded good too.

LOL I kinda noticed that when I played it back, but decided to submit it

Amazingness

Sytrus is an amasing synth if you just take the time to learn it... most people will look at it and go "...too complicated" when it isn't really. All it takes is a little patience and some imagination. Just about every effect you could want is packed into sytrus. Reverb, Cutoff, Delay, Arping, just about anything. It also helps to learn it if you jsut look at the help section for sytrus. It even supports it's own oversampling (for those who know what that does). Unison is another thing inside sytrus that can help to produce some extraordinary sounds.

So yeah you're right. Some of those presets only scratch the possibilities of Sytrus.

I am glad I heard this and happy you took the time to sit down and learn it because you time produced amazing results.

*Clap* Thanks for the review.

PS that was my high-five.

ok... ok

This is great... well for what I'm thinking of...

okay... this is a great beginning of an actual song... the cymbal placement is kinda off though you should have it hit on the down beats after the silences... after the 55th second so many possibilities rushed into my head.
Go under Plugin presets>generators>Sytrus and mess with the synth strings and short synths and arps. Also Packs>dance and look at some of the stuff there.

Just think--- no wait dont think... thinking isnt for musicians! You have to feel what should come next! You left the ending just hanging there now you HAVE to do something with it. If you need any help with FL, PM me and ill be happy answer any questions.

So worth listening to. A song that is the essance of a gamer. The song is great and the lyrics are true to the max, lol. The ending made me laugh because it caught me by surprise.

I'm 17 and I've been gaming for as long as I can remember. I even have an Atari, lol. I just downloaded emulators for SNES and N64 so i can dawnload and play all of the games i couldn't aquire due to rarity or lack of money. :)

Easily one of my favorite songs.

SkyMarshall responds:

You sir, are a true gamer. I had an Atari too. Or Atari's actually. Well who am I kidding. I've had every gaming-system since the Commodore 64, no shame in that :) Emulating is fun for nostalgic purposes I guess. If you havent tried it for the 64 - Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, GoldenEye 007 and Ocarina of Time is a must. And thanks for the 10 and the review and everything. Makes me enjoy what I do :)

relaxing...

I picked this song randomly out of the portal and this popped up... I'm glad it did.
It had a GREAT feel to it. Smooth with a slight edge to it... just enough to make you go "Ahhhhhhhh yeahhhh" and sink into a chair :)

I could SO play my sax to this
